Keep It Simple, Just Move!
Do you feel like you're overcomplicating your workouts? With so much fitness advice out there, it's easy to think you need complex routines to make some sort of progress. But the truth is, simplicity is key and knowing what works for YOU.
Here's some insight on how to do just that;

How Do You Simplify?
Dive deeper into what has been proven to work for countless years.
Back to the basics. Compound lifts such as squats, deadlifts, push-ups, and rows are timeless for a reason – they work! After learning the basic movements, there is a thing called mastery. Master the moves from how you routinely set up for each – focus on hand and/or foot placement, internal and external cues, & how you breathe – instead of chasing the latest fitness trend.
Prioritize consistency instead of perfection. A simple, repeatable workout done regularly beats a complicated one you can’t stick to. Even on days where you don't feel the greatest, this can hold down any overcomplicated workout regimen.
Focus on progressive overload. Instead of changing your program weekly, try to stick with the same program for at least 4-6 weeks. Aim to gradually increase the weight, reps, or intensity over time.
For example, if you plan to progress your lat pulldown strength, the first 2 weeks you can start at 8-10 repetitions for 3 sets at 75% of 1RM. Then, for the following 2 weeks,increase your weight up by 5-10+ lbs with the same reps scheme OR perform 12 repetitions for 3 sets OR keep all of it the same and just change the tempo of your repetitions.
Limit your workout time. Stop wasting your time and being at the gym for 2+ hours. Effective workouts can be done in 30-45 minutes when focused and well intended. More exercises ≠ better results. Less is more.
Listen to your body. Recovery is just as important as training, if not, even more. This is where the magic happens. I generally have my clients have a minimum of 3 training sessions spread out across the week. This helps avoid burnout; by keeping your program sustainable.
