Winter Arc in Full Effect
We are now in the last month of the year and some of you may have been wondering where has the time gone? Although time has flown by so quickly, so much has happened for you whether those were great and unforgettable experiences or experiences that didn't turn out as how we wanted them to where there were lessons to be learned. However,
it's all part of the of the process
for the evolution & growth of you as a human being on this planet.
With this week's newsletter, I wanted to give you an insight of what exactly is the 'winter arc' and what actions to take during the most crucial time of the year.
1. In Retrospect
One crucial thing that has been something I've started to do more often around my mid to late 20s is reflection. Since it is the 4th quarter of the year, it always feels a bit different because of the year coming to a close but it's definitely necessary to do it especially around this time of the year and here's why.
First, I like to look back on the past year and see what I've accomplished on the goals that I set for myself. I usually jot these goals down in a journal and every time I would complete the goal, I'd go back and check mark this off the list. So when coming back to it around the end of the year, I can visually see what has been done. What I learned from doing this is that I believe I get so engulfed with the journey that I never slow down. Having this action in place helps me slow down when I need to and it truly feels rewarding to see what I am more capable of within just a single year.
Second, I'd also look at the challenges and setbacks that I faced. I know for me, I hate looking back at tough times but once I changed the perspective of it being a bad time versus it being a lesson to be learned, I learned to be less hard on myself and to be honest, that is still something I still continue to work on.
2. Creating Good Habits
Another thing I like to do during the winter arc is to start creating good habits. I know I sound like a broken record on this but it always has to be said. Performing good habits just makes sense and especially for the next 60-90 days. The reason why it's so crucial to do it now is so that once you've set those good habits in place, it becomes so much easier to actually follow through with your new years resolutions.
Additionally, if you're a person that has good habits already, then I'd reflect on them and see if anything needs to be changed, added, or even subtracted that you may feel one good habit that was once beneficial before may not be benefiting you now.
3. Setting the Tone for The Future
Lastly, I want to refer this as seeing what you want to expect from yourself upon this new year. This is exactly just like goal setting but again these are your long term goals, the ones that may take time to complete. For example, if you're trying to travel more, be specific on where, who you want to go with, how much you're willing to spend, etc. Another example could be learning something new such as an instrument or a hobby. As you can tell, these examples take effort, experience, & most especially, time. So set the tone and set it how you would like it to be once the first day of the new year comes.
The Time Is Yours
This can be a serious and crucial time but don't forget to enjoy it and know that if you're ever in a funk, now is your time to decide if you want to stay like this or make the right moves today so that your future self will be in a much better place.
